Bike Boy Live and Local

Evidence. Discussion. Q&A.

Bike Boy Live and Local is the live extension of the Bike Boy podcast — bringing the story of a near-fatal 2013 crash involving a teenage cyclist and the future Premier of Victoria, and the questions that have followed about how the incident was handled, directly to communities across Victoria. These events are not about politics — they’re about examining the facts, asking questions, and allowing people to form their own views. Each event features key members of the Bike Boy team, special guests, and a live audience Q&A — where locals can hear the evidence and be part of the conversation.

Bike Boy Live and Local at Your evenT

Bike Boy Live and Local can run as a stand-alone event or as a guest segment within your existing event. Stand-alone events typically run for 1.5 to 2 hours, while guest appearances run for around 40 minutes, followed by a 20-minute live Q&A.

Your organisation hosts the venue and brings the audience. We provide the speakers, presentation, and live discussion.

These events are designed to bring communities and other groups together for an engaging session of information, discussion, and audience participation — ideal for organisations looking to host a meaningful event that draws a strong crowd.

Event format

Bike Boy Live and Local events are designed for community groups and organisations that bring people together. Sporting clubs, RSLs, Rotary and Lions clubs, CFA brigades, surf lifesaving clubs, business associations, regional pubs, and professional or networking groups are all ideal hosts.

Events are typically held in a pub, hall, club function room, conference space, or business venue, with seating for around 60 to 150+ people. A basic PA system is helpful (we can provide if needed), and venues that offer bar or food service help create a great atmosphere.

Each event also doubles as a fundraiser supporting the campaign, with merchandise and memorabilia provided for raffles on the night — giving attendees a simple way to get involved and show their support.
